About Me
Having owned a caravan park for 34 years in Bonnie Doon Victoria and during this time I became
very interested in the caravan and touring industry. I served on the board of the then Caravan Parks of
Victoria (now Vicparks) for over 15 years and was President for a number of these years. I also became
President of the Australian Caravan Parks Federation a national organisation of state caravan park
associations before it amalgamated with the CTIA. I was awarded a Life Membership of Vicparks for this
work.
After selling my park in 2000 I travelled overseas and worked in an American ski resort, Vail,
as a seasonal bus driver for their winter months, returning to Australia in our winter months to manage a ski
lodge on Mt Buller. During this time, as well as becoming a proficient skier, I maintained my interest in the
RV industry eventually buying a Silverado and 5th wheeler in America and toured the states in the shoulder
seasons. I managed to cover every state in America including the drive through Canada up to
Alaska.
I did this till 2017 when I decided to bring both the Silverado and 5th wheeler back to
Australia. I am now preparing to do the "Big Lap" as it is called in Australia and will list the parks that I
find that will accommodate my 5th wheeler comfortably.
